Hakkinen retires from motorsport

Indexed: Mon Nov 05, 2007 @ 11:00:14AM 1 year 2 weeks ago
Two-time F1 World Champion Mika Hakkinen announced during the Mercedes Stars & Cars in Stuttgart that he will retire from motorsport. Hakkinen, who retired from F1 in 2001, made a comeback in motorsport as he raced DTM in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Hakkinen said: "The decision to retire now was not an easy one. However, with 39 years, it's about time to say goodbye to professional motor racing. Of course racing is still in my blood and the decision does not mean that this will prevent me from racing for pleasure."
